January! The start of resolutions. The holidays are over, and the guilt starts.  You come to the RAC and are ready to get fit and start losing some pounds.  Nervously, you climb aboard your favorite cardio machine (most likely a treadmill or an elliptical).  You have achieved what many others have not:  You are off the couch and moving.  Great start!  But then you slowly lose motivation, and the commitment starts to wane.  

 

The key to the first few months of starting an exercise program is consistency.  One way to be consistent is to be held accountable; this is where we can help.  If you are starting and have not met with one of our Personal Trainers, I highly recommend you do so. 

 

New members receive two complimentary sessions with a Personal Trainer.  These sessions will not only introduce you to EGYM, but also help you understand the best ways to exercise to meet your specific health and wellness goals.  If you are a current member but need help or encouragement, we are here for you.  Trainers will get you started the right way.  We have single Personal Training sessions as well as reduces price package options.  Besides helping with programming your exercise routines, the accountability provided is often the difference between success and failure.  RAC Personal Trainers are passionate and knowledgeable, and they love to help people!  They may be the difference between success and failure.  

 

If you are interested in connecting with a Personal Trainer, you have some options.  First, we have a list of all their Bios on our website.  We have their photos on the wall by the water fountain on the fitness floor with all their business cards.  You can reach out to them this way or contact Steve Boring (RAC Fitness Director).  Steve can recommend the right person for you with a few simple questions.

The Market

Opening

January 2nd!

The Market will have a soft opening on Monday, January 2nd.  We have received about a half of our inventory and will continue to get more inventory throughout the month.  The Market will be about convenience and will feature quick grab-and-go options. Members can charge to their RAC account, or pay with cash or credit card. Take it to go or eat overlooking the pool. We will carry a wide variety of items, including sandwiches, salads, snacks, cookies, muffins, kid-friendly items, and beverages, including coffee.  Smoothies will be coming in late January.

8:30 am – 7:00 pm

 

Saturday and Sunday

9:30 am – 6:00 pm

 

12 Weeks to a New You

12 Weeks to a New You is the RAC’s award-winning weight management program. This structured program keeps participants on task and focused to reach their fitness and body weight goals.

 

These programs are created by our professional fitness staff and registered dietitians based around your specific goals. There is also an incentive once you reach your goals.

Inclement Weather

With the arrival of the winter season there also comes the possibility of inclement weather. For the safety of our members and staff we at times may need to adjust club hours or programming. The following reminders are a good resource in these poor weather situations.

 

CLUB CLOSING NOTIFICATION
Club closing or reduced open hours are first communicated through Facebook and in a special orange banner that will appear at the top of every page on the website. If you have the RAC app, you will also receive a notification if you allow notifications on your device.

Kids Pajama Party

Kids-need a night just for you? Come to our Kids Pajama Party! We will eat pizza, make a cool craft, watch a movie, and eat snacks. Wear your pajamas and bring a sleeping bag for the movie.

Camp Einstein

Our education-based full day camp operates on non-school days not associated with a federal holiday and major schedule break. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available upon request. A nutritionally balanced lunch and two snacks are provided.

 

Camp Einstein Dates for the 2022-2023 School Year:

  • Friday, January 27, 2023
  • Friday, March 3, 2023

Enrollment $60/day per child members | $72/day per child non-members

Mayo Clinic Blood Drive

We are hosting a blood drive through Mayo Clinic. The blood drive is open to the public and is scheduled for Tuesday, January 3rd, and Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 in the Civic View Room. Active PT Free Screenings

ActivePT will be providing FREE 15-minute screens at the RAC on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Screenings are a great opportunity to have your pain assessed by a licensed physical therapist and allow you to continue your fitness journey.
