Random Fun Facts

Years ago, I did a few newsletter articles on interesting facts or things around the club.  I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested, but they ended up being not only fun, but I received a lot of feedback from members who found them intriguing.  So here goes another article on fun facts at the RAC.

  • The average number of member check-ins per day in January 2023 was 2,427
  • The most member check-ins in a day was on January 2, 2019:  3,315
  • The RAC Management Team has delivered Meals on Wheels every Wednesday since the club was open (1993), except for when Meals on Wheels were in COVID protocol.
  • We receive approximately 100 survey replies monthly, and 40 RAC Let’s Talk Cards
  • We sent our February Newsletter to 8,722 members with a 49.17% open rate.
  • We budget $6,500 a year for basketballs, $16,000 in tennis balls, over $26,000 for towels, and $67,000 for locker room consumables (soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.).
  • Because of the high usage, we have to drain the family pool about once every 4-6 weeks and the whirlpools twice a week.
  • As of January 31, we have onboarded 2,312 members to EGYM.
  • Each year, one Director gets to choose a charity for the management team to learn about and rally around.  We then spend part of a day helping that charity, and the club also contributes a cash donation.  We have worked with Safe Haven, Empty Bowls, St. Philothei Ministry, Brains Together for a Cure, Hope Kids, Jeremiah Program, and Oxbow Park.
  • The RAC has 260,000 square feet under roof, and we are in the top ten largest clubs in the US.
  • The RAC has made Club Industry Magazines Top 100 Clubs every year we have been open.

Silent Auction Charity Wall

If you have been to the club, you have noticed some cabinets and a glass enclosure built on the back of our Front Desk.  One of the RAC values is to give back to the community.  We will showcase a charity and bring silent auction merchandise (sports jerseys, memorabilia, cinema, etc.).  All proceeds from the silent auction items will go to the showcased charity.

Each quarter we will randomly select a new charity to showcase and support. If you are interested in nominating a charity, please email [email protected].  Thank you to all who have supported giving back to the community by bidding on items.  This month's charity auctions will support the Jeremiah Program, which focuses improving the lives of single mothers and their children through affordable housing and education.

National Nutrition Month

This year's National Nutrition Month theme is "Fuel for the Future". To celebrate, we're doing a few things:

  • The RAC dietitians will be placing "Fuel for the Future" stickers on their top food picks in the Market during the month of March!
  • The dietitians will be posting daily videos on social media to showcase a few of our favorite food items. Be sure to "like" & follow the "RAC Dietitians" page on Facebook & Instagram to make sure you don't miss out!
  • Towards the end of the March we will be placing a nutrition quiz downstairs by the RAC Dietitian bulletin board, and we have some great prizes in store for two lucky winners!"

Camps give kids a great opportunity to make new friends and have new experiences outside of their neighborhood and classroom.
